7月30日 Did you thank your techie lately ?And I concur.. even without the gifts (they do have nice suggestions
Not that I would know anything about that...... Perl Survey 2007Use perl ? Go take the Perl Survey 2007 !
I'm curious to see the results at the end of september... Not really useful directly, but should be interesting even if just for the number of users they'll get .. 7月18日 BOT: With more talent, time and some crayolas...... I just might have started a webcomic :) So I'll keep it to heavily biased short versions of daily conversations..
Boss: Could we take away the second desk in the lab?
Burned Out Techie: The one with ALL the equipment on it? That we _just_ intalled following the move ?
Boss: ...yeah.
Burned Out Techie: Why ?
Boss: ... because the CEO think it's ugly.
Burned Out Techie: ... 7月13日 Damn I like my WiiTo Sony: kthxbye! As they would say on lolcats sites or here.
I still have my PS1. I got my PS2 on launch, and replaced it a couple of years down the line. But I'm getting tired of the crap. I'll skip over the pre launch hype/crap fest and the many PR fiascos of the last two years and focus on stuff from this week.
First up.. The price cut. Sounds like a great idea, right ? Well, have a look here. It's more like a temporary price cut. It's a cut to get rid of the stocks and then the only option is back a sky-high price. Yes, you get more stuff in the bundle. But anyone really tried Motorstorm at the demo of your favorite store? Am I the only one that thought it was really crap ? So bundling something I'd never buy with the console is a price hike for me.
"But it has a bigger HD!" Woopee. Look up HD prices anywhere -- what's the price difference between 60 and 80G ? Can you even BUY a small 80G drive anywhere easily nowadays as Joe Consumer? If they're really worried about not having enough space to accomodate downloadable games in the future, 80G still seems a bit small.
Don't forget the new 80G unit is also the new HW revision of the PS3.. Cheaper components, kiss some of the backward compatibility goodbye. That won't change things much for people in the EU, but it still sucks from where I sit. If I can't be sure my close-to-100 PS2 games collection won't be reliably on the new hardware, backward compatibility is not a feature that will make me want to switch. Better off getting a dirt cheap PS2 backup unit.. Would save space too, since I still have the older bulky model.
I'm also not considering converting my 415 DVDs to High Def anytime soon. Even winning the lotto my priorities would be elsewhere. Beetlejuice looks nice enough already, thanks. I don't care which format "wins", I'm sticking to DVD.
Then what? Playstation Home ?? I could play SL for free, thanks. I have no need whatsoever for microtransactions, thank you.
Then this morning I see this story on Gamasutra..
Photo didn't look familiar, and indeed first paragraph mentions he's a new guy. But gee... wtf ? Where did they get this guy ? Rabid Freaks R Us ? If this shows how the higher ups at Sony think, wow.
Rock Band, Ratchet & Clank and MGS4 are what is keeping me interested in the PS3. I'd take one if it fell off of a truck, for sure.
I'd be half tempted by the 360 if not for the components quality issue.. But for that amount of money I want something reliable for a while, not just a strong maybe with an extended warranty.
So it's way too much $$ for overpriced, underwhelming toys with too many 'features' clearly not targetting me.
So I, for one, welcome my new Wii overlord :) Now if Nintendo can just get their crap together about online play and get more hooks for hardcore gamers....... Cute and neat + VC titles will do only for so long.... |
